Who isn’t to the manor born? 19th-century grandeur provides the perfect gateway to the wines of the Russian River Valley. Or stay put – understandably the manor wins high marks for destination weddings and honeymoons, and its verandah is renowned for its proposal-worthiness. The cuisine is suitably haute and scenic amid gardens and orchards. Not to be confused with Casa Madrona in Sausalito. Rooms from around £650.
