Parent Support
As parents of Blue Ridge Sudbury School students, your role is essential in the educational process. Unlike in other schools, at Blue Ridge Sudbury School your child is given full trust and responsibility for his educational experience. You know, however, that entrusting your child to such a significant level of responsibility is a process. Blue Ridge Sudbury School staff provides many ways to support you:
- Student-Parent-Staff Conferences. In November and again in the spring, you and your child can meet privately with staff to discuss how the school year is going. This time is focused on allowing your child to evaluate her experiences, you to express your observations, staff to share input as requested, and questions or concerns to be answered or addressed.
- Informal Conferences. When you have questions or need to voice concerns, staff members are always available to schedule a time to talk.
- Blue Ridge Sudbury School Family Potlucks. Usually held on the second Friday of each month during the school year, these informal gatherings are open to you, your family, and your child as a Blue Ridge Sudbury School student.
- Sudbury Methods. Monthly topics on the hows and whys of Sudbury education.
- The School Voice. Blue Ridge Sudbury School newsletter offers you and the community a glimpse at Sudbury education as it happens at our school.
